About

The BIG Sheep – world famous for the hilarious Sheep Racing!

North Devon’s most popular family attraction - Terrific for Tots, Toddlers & Teens – Awesome for Adults and Fantastic for Families!

Guaranteed fun! – Whatever the Weather

This multi award-winning family attraction is guaranteed to be the highlight of your holiday, with hilarious shows, including the world-famous Sheep Racing, great rides, including the South West’s largest family rollercoaster. Animal magic and a brilliant selection of indoor and outdoor play and activities to keep everyone in the family entertained all day long.

Set in 40 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland, The BIG Sheep has proudly welcomed over 2.5 million visitors during the past 30 years.   The attraction was set up to create great holiday memories and the BIG Sheep ‘flock’ look forward to giving visitors to the park a totally EWE-nique day out.

The BIG Sheep is home to Devon’s most popular and largest rollercoaster with swoops, turns and drops full of family thrills and views across the lake to many of the park’s attractions.

With 11 hilarious shows, all with undercover viewing area, visitors will enjoy some of the most EWE-nique events ever seen in the UK. Shows include the world-famous Sheep Race - a hysterical sporting event with sheep and jockeys; our Sheep Show - where sheep from around the world strut their stuff on stage; the Sheep and Duck Trials, Sheep Shearing and Lamb Feeding show.

If you fancy a bit of outdoor play, you can bounce as high as you can on the giant jumping pillows, experience the thrill of flying around on the Twister Ride, get wet and wild in the Splash Zone or try your skills at archery.

Children can enjoy the magic of a real farm – new born lambs around for most of the year, and other baby farm animals, are on hand to feed and cuddle at Pets’ Corner.  Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture some magical moments and sheep selfies. All the resident animals in the animal barn, puppies, chicks, rabbits, lambs and miniature ponies, allow you to get up close and personal.

Gentle rides for toddlers and younger children include the Piggy Pull-a-Long, Tractor Safari, self-drive Tractor Track, Pony Rides and Vintage Pony and Swan Carousel.

Ewetopia, a massive indoor adventure play zone is where children (and lively adults) can burn off some energy on a selection of great slides and imaginative soft play climbing areas, tumble towers, mazes and obstacles.

The more adventurous visitor can enjoy battling it out with family and friends in our themed combat zone, Battlefield Live, or try some taster sessions on the 45ft climbing wall and master the art of mountain boarding and low ropes at our sister attraction, the Ultimate Adventure Centre (in school summer holidays only).

The Barn Cafe serves up menus of delicious homemade food and Bo Beep’s Servery in Ewetopia has a variety of fast food, and there’s a well-maintained picnic area too.

The EWE2 Arena is a dedicated event’s space which hosts a range of fantastic events throughout the year – Easter Extravaganza, the biggest Easter Egg Hunt in the South West, Mind Body & Soul Festival, Wedding Shows, Spooktacular Halloween Festival and much, much more….  Check the events calendar on the website www.thebigsheep.co.uk before your visit.

    How to find Us

The BIG Sheep is located in the village of Abbotsham, just outside of Bideford. Follow the brown tourist signs, which can be found on entry roads in and around Bideford.

The recommended route is via the A39 Atlantic Highway, we are two miles west of the Bideford bridge.

If you have SatNav the postcode is: EX39 5AP

    Public Transport Directions

    Travelling by Bus:

The only bus which drives past the BIG Sheep is the 319 stagecoach bus from Barnstaple town centre to Hartland and vice versa. The nearest bus stop is outside the church in Abbotsham, the small village where we are based. From the bus stop the BIG Sheep is a 2-3 minute walk away. However, ask the driver nicely and they will usually stop outside the car park and drop you off. This isn't a bus stop, but the drivers are usually very good if you ask nicely
