Food & Drink Festivals and Events in Devon

As well as regular Farmers' Markets, there are a host of excellent food events happening across Devon all year around. From lobster festivals to apple festivals and more. Devon’s heritage is steeped in farming and the county is well-known for producing some of the best fish, seafood, meat and vegetables in the UK, and who can forget the Devon Cream Tea?

If food is an important part of your holiday in Devon, make sure you set aside some time for Devon’s various food festivals and events.

Food Glorious Food!

Most food festivals feature top producers from around the region, whilst some focus on something in particular, such as Clovelly's Herring Festival in November, and its Lobster and Crab Feast in September. Many also offer fun and entertainment for younger gastronomes, while the adults can get on with the serious business of sampling the best in local produce.

We also have lots of beer and/or cider festivals in Devon too, celebrating the best of our local brews. As you can imagine, these are usually well-attended and great fun, and often have live music and entertainment too.

Events throughout the year

In April, visit the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink for top regional produce, children’s foodie workshops, music and entertainment - and remember to visit its After Dark events too, with street food and live music.

May sees the Salcombe Crabfest, with hands on demonstrations, crab picking tuition, a commercial crab fishing talk, demonstration kitchen, crab pot making, music, wine tasting and much more.

The autumn months sees a clutch of great food festivals across Devon.
In September it's the Clovelly Lobster and Crab Feast, which gives local fishermen a chance to show off their prime Devon catch, Taste of the Teign and the Plymouth Seafood Festival. Then in October, you could be enjoying the best of the region’s produce at one of many events, including North Devon’s Foodfest, Dartmouth Food Festival and Powderham Food Festival.

Many people plan their visits to Devon around a food experience, festival or event - and if that sounds good to you too, then pick your Devon accommodation here.
