Local food made by local people

Like most of the eateries in Devon, the establishments of Barnstaple are stocked with fresh, high quality local produce from across the west country. While you will find familiar names and chain restaurants around the town, there are also an abundance of independent establishments that are owned, managed and staffed by Barnstaple locals. These independent restaurants, cafes and bistros prepare extensive menus of high quality, delicious food made up of ingredients from the area, so not only can you be sure that you are eating good quality food, but you’re also helping to reduce their carbon footprint too!

Fine dining with a difference

Barnstaple is the home of The Brend Hotels’ flagship property, the Imperial, along with a number of their other hotels all of which offer fine dining and informal menus open to hotel guests and to those visiting Barnstaple. Dining at the hotels’ restaurants is always a pleasure, not only are the main dining areas beautifully decorated and comfortable, but the food really speaks for itself. The restaurants often advertise themed menus at various times during the week including a roast on a Sunday that is incredibly popular with visitors and Barnstaple residents alike.
The Brend chains also offer a range of more casual dining options at their bistros and brasseries which are also on site at their hotels. These are more informal, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t get an exquisite meal!
