What's On in Beer

These days Beer is a popular tourist resort with easy access to the Jurassic Coast and lots of things to see and do, many of which are directly inspired by the village’s maritime history and take advantage of the beautiful coast.  

Live music and more 

Like many villages, the pubs and bars are the real heart of the community in Beer and you’ll often find local events taking place there, including promoting live, local music and other activities to really help you settle into village life.  

If live music is your thing, keep an eye out for the Beer Rhythm and Blues Festival which runs across three days and includes a fabulous line up of critically acclaimed bands and musicians representing the very best of British R’n’B. Running since the 1990s, the festival has grown into a major musical and social event with artists coming from all over Britain.  

Another world famous event taking place every year in Beer is the Beer Regatta. There has been some form of regatta in the village for over a century and these days, celebrations can last for an entire week! To experience the fun and games of the Regatta, make sure to be in the region in August, the regatta tends to take place around the bank holiday making it a great way to round off your summer! 

The Beer Village Festival is another regular event which takes its inspiration from the village’s maritime history. Many of the festival’s events and activities surround the beach, the caves and the cliff tops, as well as live music, food and of course, locally brewed beers and ciders!

As a popular destination for holiday makers, Beer’s many attractions hold regular, seasonal events which correspond with school holidays and the summer months. With additional workshops, exhibitions and themed days, these make every visit special and even your favourite places feel new.
