The region is known for its musical talent, and you can catch local bands and musicians at venues throughout the town, as well as at the annual music festival and the Gala Week which takes place in May.
Budleigh Music Festival
Every year the town hosts its annual Music Festival featuring a programme of lunch time and evening concerts, as well as special events to enjoy.
The lunchtime concerts give you the chance to meet new, upcoming local musicians, while the evening shows promote a range of experienced musicians from all over the country.
Sadly, the festival has had to take a little break due to the recent pandemic but is on track to bring music back to Budleigh soon.
Budleigh Literary Festival
Perhaps the biggest event on the calendar is the annual literary festival. A host of well known authors, poets, essayists and publishers descend on the town every year to discuss their work and host workshops and talks with bibliophiles from all over the country.
Budleigh Carnival
The Budleigh Salterton Carnival Committee organise a range of events throughout the year as well as the Carnival, which was brought back to the town after a 20 year absence. Now as the newest carnival on the scene, the organisers are bringing all the lights, laughter and fun to the town.
Budleigh Food and Drink
Another firm favourite for visitors of the town is the food and drink festival. The festival, which runs across two days features markets of artisan food, local real ale, competitions and a fun food trail all over town.
Taking place twice a year, the festival offers a host of all ages activities and workshops, as well as live demonstrations, making it a fun day out for everyone.
