North Devon is most famous for its glorious coastline, but that isn’t all the region has going for it. There a whole load of world-class events and activities taking place in the North Devon area all year around to suit every taste and budget.
As one of the largest festivals of its kind in North Devon, Appledore Book Festival attracts best sellers and publishers from around the UK. Taking place every September, previous lineups have included Jeremy Vine, Robert Harris, Celia Imrie, Philippa Langley, Veronica Henry, Louise Candlish, Jennie Godfrey, Fiona Williams and more.
One of the region’s most well-known shows is the North Devon Show which is a regular celebration of North Devon’s agricultural heritage. The show introduces you to a whole host of farm animals, such as alpacas, cattle, horses and sheep as well as traditional practises like show jumping and dog shows.
