Winter in Devon
Devon isn't all about the beaches and the sunshine - though loads of people like to descend on the coast during the summer, Devon is more than just a summer holiday destination. Both the coast and the countryside become beautifully dramatic in the winter, especially when we get a flurry of snow or two.
A new Devon with every visit
Devon is incredibly diverse, with two National Parks, two coastlines and an abundance of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, every season brings something new. In the winter, the countryside and the coast become much more dramatic, with bigger waves and harsher plantlife. This time of year is great for those of you who want a quieter break as there are typically fewer people around and is a good choice for anyone wanting a walking holiday. Don't worry about the weather, being based in the South West means that Devon has a milder climate than other places in the UK, that doesn't mean you should leave your coat behind though!
Walking in a winter wonderland
No matter what season you visit, there is always something to do and staying in Devon during the winter months will give you the chance to meet Father Christmas and his elves, enjoy a host of traditional winter activities and really get into the spirit with the various festivities hosted by the region's towns and villages. From pantomimes to brightly coloured lights, carnivals, parades and more, there is something for everyone in Devon this winter.
