What's On in Bovey Tracey
As one of the gateway towns to Dartmoor and home to MAKE SouthWest, who were formerly the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Bovey Tracey is a cultural and artistic hub and throughout the year you can expect to find a host of interesting things to see and do.
Bovey Tracey Carnival
Every year the town enjoys the Bovey Tracey Carnival which brings a week’s worth of activities to the town. Taking place in the summer, it is a celebration of colour, music and fun and is always worth checking out if you’re in the town during the summer.
As well as the annual carnival, the carnival committee also host a variety of family friendly activities throughout the year, so no matter when you’re in town, you can experience the fun of the carnival.
Crafts and creativity
Bovey Tracey is known for being a haven of creativity and is the home to MAKE South West, who were formerly known as the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, an organisation that champion creativity and regularly host free exhibitions. You can find them at the town’s riverside mill, which is open to visitors on selected days. Their ever changing calendar of events features workshops, interactive activities and talks with crafts people working with a variety materials.
As a market town, there are also regular markets covering local produce and locally made gifts, where you can find a host of unique items and tasty treats.
