What's On in Axminster

As you might expect from a town with such beautiful surroundings, this is a town full of creatives and artists drawing inspiration from the world around them. Axminster’s legacy of creating pretty items such as patterned carpets and pottery isn’t just limited to those two mediums, it is well known throughout the region for its artistic community and they are only too happy to welcome visitors to join in with a host of events that take place throughout the year.

Annual art trail

Visitors and residents alike are always encouraged to join in with the Axminster Art Trail which takes place every year and includes a variety of artistic mediums including sculptures which represent the town’s heritage. There are maps to help you complete the trail and plenty of ways you can have fun while exploring the different art pieces around the town.

Every summer, Axminster also hosts the Axe Vale Festival of Gardening and Crafts, which is the largest event of its kind in the south west. It is the perfect place for finding those special, home made gifts for the loved ones in your life and for celebrating your crafty side by getting involved in workshops and meeting the makers.
