What's On in Totnes

Being a thriving market town, it is no wonder that markets are the top of the bill when it comes to what’s on in Totnes. There are a host of markets that take place throughout the week, including one where the traders dress up in Elizabethan period costume!

Find food and gifts in Market Square

The Market Square is the place to be if markets are what you’re looking for. The Totnes Market is weekly and has been held for hundreds of years, while the Totnes Sunday Food Market is held on the third Sunday of every month. Another regular market is the Elizabethan Market, which celebrates the town receiving a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I. The town’s traders dress up and there is a real party atmosphere throughout the town.

Other big events that take place every year include the Totnes Raft Race, otherwise known as the River Dart Struggle, the Totnes and District Show and music festivals in nearby Dartmouth and Dartington.

There is a whole calendar of events going on at the attractions around the town. Dartington Hall host a summer music programme, as well as regular film screenings, while China Blue in the town centre host a number of events and workshops for you to join in with.

The nearby Sharpham Trust have several events and activities taking place, perfect for those that love wellness breaks!
