Home to the English Riviera and areas like South Hams and Plymouth, South Devon is a hugely diverse area full of things to do and events to keep you entertained.
Being home to the England Seafood Coast, there are plenty of opportunities to sample incredible food and drink while in South Devon. In the spring months, you can visit Salcombe for Crabfest or make your way over to Torquay for the gin festival or the England Seafood Feast. Elsewhere in South Devon, there is the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival, while late in the year you can enjoy the Dartmouth Food Festival.

Perhaps one of the best known events in South Devon is the Dartmouth Royal Regatta which takes place every summer in the town of Dartmouth and brings huge crowds every year. Running since 1822, the Regatta has been a huge part of the region's events calendar for over 100 years!
If your favourite activity is indulging in some retail therapy, South Devon is a great destination, not only are there traditional market towns, but also quirky ones, like Totnes and superb high street shopping. However, if you like something a little more challenging, you’ll be well accommodated too, there are a whole host of fun events and activities throughout the south Devon region to get involved with.

There are animal encounters, children’s crafts and a whole lot of seasonal and regular events covering everything from theatre performances, interactive workshops and courses, festivals and more. It is a great place to go for anyone who wants to get close to nature, with a wide and varied landscape, with many of the popular activities taking advantage of the proximity to the countryside.
