The East Devon & Jurassic Experience

The afternoon can be spent exploring the Jurassic Coast from where a stroll along the South West Coastal Path is a must for spectacular views and wildlife. Budleigh Salterton to White Bridge or Lulworth Cove to Fossil Forest which is suitable for people with mobility problems, push chairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters.  Particularly good for dogs as these walks pass a beach and pub where dogs are very welcome.

Day two:

On day two, get ready to take a cruise up the Exe Estuary with Stuart Line Cruises, an all-weather, family-friendly, dog-friendly, value for money experience with boat trips accessible for wheelchair users. The tranquil waters of the River Exe allow us to cruise through the winter months to see this constantly changing landscape from the ever-calm waters of the river.

This award-winning stretch of water is home to a wide range of wildlife and migrating birds that make for magnificent viewing in the autumn and winter seasons.

Departing from Exmouth Marina, these circular cruises travel along the peaceful waters of the river towards Powderham Castle and along to where the river ends on Exmouth’s traditional seafront.

The indoor heated lower decks have large windows for great viewing and outside upper decks with plenty of fresh air and blankets.

During the afternoon a visit to Bicton Countryside Museum, located within the  63 hectares of Botanical Gardens, this collection of exhibits from bygone days are a source of wonderment and ideal for both adults and younger visitors alike

Day three:

Discover some more delights of East Devon by enjoying a trip to Beer and Branscombe where the colourful fishing boats are resting on the beach and if your’re lucky, you can find a fossil amongst the pebble on the beach.  The colourful and narrow streets of these pretty villages are perfect to meander through.  And if you’re feeling energetic –

THE HOOKEN CLIFFS WALK AT BEER AND BRANSCOMBE Ten miles (16km) Take the path out of the village, following the Coast Path over Beer Head to Branscombe Beach. Return via the Coast Path or continue on the 4.1-mile (6.6km) Hooken Cliffs walk by heading inland to the pretty village of Branscombe.
