Hotel Elizabeth

About

Located at the heart of Sidmouth’s Regency Esplanade, the Elizabeth is in a stunning location looking out over the red sandstone cliffs of the World Heritage Coast.

All the rooms at the Elizabeth are individual in shapes, size and designed to give you the space to relax, unwind and admire the view.
Most of our rooms offer stunning views out on to Lyme Bay, many with balconies or large picture windows overlooking the Jurassic coast.
Those rooms situated on the front have an incredible maritime panorama from Start Point to Portland Bill offering amazing sights, particularly at sunset and sunrise. There is also free, complimentary WiFi throughout the Elizabeth for guests to use, making it perfect for those wanting to unwind with a film in the evenings or catching up with work during a conference stay.

Guests can choose between single, double or twin rooms, all of which are tastefully decorated and full of the home comforts you would expect.

For those of you planning to travel around the region during your stay, we have our own private car park, so please speak to us when making your booking to reserve a space.

Our kitchen crafts food with a simple ethos inspired by the sea, our menus are fresh, seasonal and busting with flavour. Eating at the Elizabeth offers a relaxed, informal dining experience and wonderful views out to sea.
Guests and non-residents can enjoy lunch and dinner daily, either in the restaurant or on our patio in warmer weather.

We’re happy to cater for a range of events and dietary requirements, please speak to restaurant staff when ordering to let them know of any food intolerances or special diets. Guests staying at the hotel who need any additional requirements, are welcome to speak to the team when making their booking.

The restaurant is open daily and there is a wide range of food available, from a la carte menus, to lunch, dinner, Sunday dinner and Afternoon Tea, as well as special occasions.
Sidmouth Town Centre and the sea front is home to a number of different eateries, bars and restaurants, so whatever you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it.

The Elizabeth can be found at the heart of Sidmouth’s Regency Esplanade, looking out onto the sea. Sidmouth’s Regency history can be seen all over the town, it was once a small fishing village, but became a fashionable resort in the early 19th century. Wherever you are in Sidmouth, you’ll be able to see this original charm retained in the buildings, complimented with modern facilities and features. Feast your eyes on the numerous fine Georgian and Regency villas, which now host hotels, restaurants and shops, but have not lost their historic essence.
Sidmouth is an ideal location for families, holidaying couples and those wanting to explore the wider east Devon area, you’re close to the famous Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Coastline, as well as the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Why not enjoy some time on one of the town’s beaches? In low tide, the two pebble beaches give away to golden sands and rock pools, making it an ideal place to relax in a deckchair or towel while the kids play.

There are plenty of popular attractions in this area of Devon, but for those that want to stay close to your base, there are lots of sights to see in Sidmouth. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible from the town, allowing you to follow the walking trail for as far or as little as you like and see some incredible views. Walkers will also enjoy the challenge of Peak Hill and Salcombe Hill, while those who want something more gentle will love wondering around the town centre, park and gardens. The two beaches are linked by a walkway making it easy to explore both of them during your stay. The Byes, a National Trust owned piece of parkland is also nearby and is a great spot for picnics, exploring, strolling or relaxing. There are a number of walking and cycling tracks around the park allowing you and your family to really get back to nature during your stay with us.

If getting back to nature and relaxing appeal to you, make sure to speak to our team about our yoga retreats which we are able to offer after teaming up with a local yoga company.
Alternatively, keep checking back to our page for our regular special offers and events.

At the Elizabeth, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and take pride in being an eco-friendly business. Our hotel has been awarded the Green Tourism Silver Award, so don’t sacrifice comfort, reduce your carbon footprint and have a cosy stay with us.
