Events on Dartmoor

Not only is Dartmoor a beautiful area of Devon with dramatic landscapes are hundreds of fun events going on all over the area to take part in. Dartmoor is a great family friendly location and there are lots of thing to keep you and the little ones occupied while you’re exploring the area.

If you’re into the great outdoors it is a brilliant place to go, full of events to get you closer to nature, as well as activities such as cycle and walking trials, wildlife spotting and more, both with and without guides. The moor is full of exciting landscapes, including the Forestry Commission’s Bellever Forest and Roadford Lake, one of the largest inland water areas in the south west where you can do everything from exploring to den building. Perfect for getting the kids away from screens and into the wild.

If you’re not sure you want to spend time out in the open at the behest of the British weather, there are lots of establishments based in Dartmoor offering a whole host of events to keep you entertained.

So whether you’re planning on getting your hands dirty, doing some photography or finding a countryside organisation to while away the hours in, you’ll find it on Dartmoor. There is everything from shopping experiences, animal parks, museums and even one off events, like cookery courses and arts and crafts activities suitable for a whole range of abilities.
