Sidmouth Sea Fest

Returning 2026

Sidmouth’s homegrown festival like no other.

Sidmouth Sea Fest, renowned for its community spirit and welcoming atmosphere is an annual coastal celebration.  The venue is The Ham and eastern end of the Esplanade.  A creative platform with an emphasis on the amazing breadth of groups that share our aims to protect the marine environment and promote the wellbeing of the community and those who visit.

The festival features art, crafts, music and food which works to promote coastal living and celebrating the region’s fishing heritage.

The festival is produced by Sidmouth Coastal Community Hub, who aim to celebrate Sidmouth’s vibrant coastal community with a host of interesting events and workshops designed to educate about life on the coast.

It is a fun filled quirky festival filled with collaborations with local community groups to celebrate everything in, on and by the sea. This free festival is great for all ages including up and coming young bands as part of our local talent nurturing ethos as well as established bands.

With its own Sea Fest Coastal Community Choir singing shanties and a range of sea related numbers, there will are a host of activities to entertain everyone all day long.

Celebrating 10 years since the Sea Fest journey began – the 2024 theme is Seas The Day!  A hopeful call to action at a difficult time for people and planet - to do the things that support our wellbeing and invigorate us to protect our coastal environment.

A carpe diem message about coming together to share, celebrate and nurture where we call home.

Sidmouth Sea Fest is a single-use plastics free festival.

Sidmouth Sea Fest aims to bring the community together to celebrate all that is in on and by the sea to create a shared sense of pride and belonging in our beautiful coastal town and to attract visitors.

The festival encourages all those who run coastal activities, local/community groups or create coastal products to take part and help us to raise awareness of the value of our coast and the need to be responsible stewards of our coastal and marine environment, to promote sustainable development and responsible tourism and to have fun!

Sea Fest is run by volunteers and is a free community event welcoming residents and visitors. They value every donation, sponsorship and small grant that helps to cover the costs and ensure a free day out for all.
