With the vast expanse of moorland that stretches out as far as the eye can see, Dartmoor is sure to awaken the explorer in you. This unique area of moorland is one of the remaining areas of Britain that is truly wild, full of stunning views, wooded valleys, rivers and tors it is a magical and relaxing place to be.
Dartmoor is full of history and heritage to explore, with records for this part of Devon going back to Neolithic times. The largest number of archaeological remains in Europe can be found in Dartmoor, with many ancient villages and museums to whet your appetite for history and culture. There are a large number of stone circles, stone crosses and menhirs. It is also home to all manner of wildlife and various parts of the famous moor are Special Areas of Conservation
Day One
A visit to the River Dart Country Park is a must and open all year with fun for all. Packed with outdoor fun for all ages, River Dart Country Park is located in over 90 stunning acres. There’s excitement around every corner in our extensive adventure playgrounds. Explore our activities and test your balance on the Agility Trail, take in the stunning views inside our treetop Tower, and get to the top of the Climbing Pods! Let imaginations run wild aboard the Pirate Ship or inside the Play Fort, and let competitive kids take on our Assault Course or Bike Pump Track.
It’s all about adventure! Try our Dare Devil activities (at extra cost) – all supervised by qualified outdoor Instructors. High adrenaline activities include a new and extended High Ropes Course, Mega Zip Wire, Canoeing, Water Zorbs, Kayaking and Indoor Bouldering Wall!Gravity fuelled riding is here! Dartmoor Bike Park is located within the Park.

Day Two
A little more sedate after the busy day yesterday, so a visit to the Minature Pony centre is a must. This unique attraction is with its herd of Miniature ponies really are a family! Since 1986, customers are welcome to closely interact with the beautiful ponies. This is the only true and original Miniature Pony Centre. Fall in love with the heavy horses, mammoth donkeys, miniature ponies and foals, miniature pigs as well as many more animals.
There are a range of hands-on activities running daily including the new pony walking and Pony Storytime. Pony rides are available for children aged 3 – 10 and are £2.50 per ride, there is also 6 different play areas and snacks can be taken in the Paddock onsite café.

On leaving the centre, travel a couple of miles to the pretty thatched village of North Bovey where the magnificent thatched Ring of Bells pub is nestled in an ancient 13th century courtyard serving excellent food.

The afternoon can be spent exploring the vast open space that is Dartmoor National Park and a visit to Haytor is well worth it and a climb to the top of this magnificent granite rock formed over 280 million years ago. The winter views are spectacular views across Dartmoor and the South Devon coast and offers good opportunities for you to experience Dartmoor’s fascinating past and the stunning wildlife and heritage within a short walk of the National Park Visitor Centre.
Day Three

From beginners taking their first Rock Climbing experience, too seasoned climbers looking to advance their skills, we have an adventure to suit.
