About

A Full Day of Family Fun at Pennywell Farm

Treat your family to a full day of ‘farmtastic’ fun and animal action at Pennywell Farm, near Buckfastleigh in South Devon.

We have a huge variety of friendly farm animals, from the mighty to the miniature for you to get acquainted with.

With a different hands on animal activity, show or display every half hour, hundreds of friendly farm animals and pets, plus four farm FREE rides, you won’t waste a single minute. Every child will be given an activity stamp card where they can collect stamps after each activity to earn a FREE return visit. Fantastic value!

Arrive at 10am, meet your Pennywell activity farmer for day, check out the activity board and join in the fun. Bottle feed baby animals, race ferrets, meet hedgehogs, explore ponds and enjoy fantastic entertainers every day during the Devon school holidays.

Pennywell Farm is home to the world famous Pennywell miniature pigs and you can enjoy piggy cuddles with the piglets in the cosy piggy cuddles barn.

If ponies are your thing, groom and pamper our very sociable pint sized ponies in our miniature pony centre. What they lack in size in definitely make up for in personality and they love to be fussed over.

Pennywell Pig Racing is a must and every afternoon at 2.30pm, you can be a part of this phenomenon - we guarantee you won’t have experienced anything quite like it.

There’s acres of indoor space to play and picnic and if it rains during your visit we will give you a FREE return ticket.

The Red Rocket, Tractor and Trailer ride, Run Rabbit Go Carts and Rainbow Railway are all included in the admission price – great fun, fantastic value! The Red Rocket launches daily for ages 4+ while adults and children over 8 can race on the Run Rabbit Go-Karts.

Our undercover tractor village is a delight for all budding farmers and also an opportunity to catch up with the adventures of Tractor Ted on our giant screens.

Toddlers will love our special toddler play village and Noah’s Barn is home to a giant bouncy castle, indoor bowling alley and soft play. Outside you can challenge the family to game of crazy golf on our farmyard themed course or take things at a slower pace with a game of croquet on the lawn.

Our international collection of funky fowl have their own little village and egg collecting is one of the first activities of the day. Just behind the poultry, you will find our deer field with stunning views over the Dart Valley and a chance to meet our fabulous fallow and red deer.

The Pennywell fishponds are in a very secluded area of the farm and you are welcome to bring your own fishing rods to see if you can catch a tiddler. Our wildlife ponds are teaming with life and nets and bowls are available for you to go in search of what lies beneath.

For a farmyard feast, call in to our licensed café for delicious hot and cold meals, snacks cakes and cream teas or call in to the Coffee Cabin for a quick cuppa.

We’re easy to find, just 3 minutes off the A38 at Buckfastleigh. Follow the brown tourist signs. The Pennywell team will give you a full day of action packed fun – guaranteed!

For further information, events and booking visit: www.pennywellfarm.co.uk or call 01364 642023

Pennywell has the friendliest animals in Devon and the 2020 season will have more animals to meet than ever before with our new and improved Miniature Pony Centre.

We’re expanding the number of equines on the farm this year so you can get really hands on with not just our miniature ponies but miniature donkeys, heavy horses and our latest addition, Connery who has retired to Pennywell after a career in the Household Cavalry.

We want visitors and locals to know that you can still have a close up and personal experience with miniature ponies in Devon.
