Two businesses in Ottery St Mary have been announced as semi finalists in the West Country Women’s Awards 2023.
The awards were created last year to celebrate and highlight the achievements and triumphs of women across the West Country, now entering its second year, the organisers are once again celebrating the fantastic work being done by women across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
The 2023 awards received 1428 nominations, with two Ottery businesses among the 107 semi finalists.
Nicci Simpson, was named as a semi finalist in the Phoenix Award, which aims to identify individuals who have risen from the ashes and been resilient, working hard to change the lives and the economy of their community for the better.
Beth Ashfield and Andrea Broadhurst are both named in the Women in Food & Drink category, which aims to recognise women who have flair and enthusiasm in the hospitality sector of Food and Drink and demonstrate a very high standard for food, drink and service.
Now the semi finalists will be narrowed down, the finalists will then be announced on 30th October.
