The Mid Devon Experience
The perfect location to explore all of Devon. In the heart of Devon, situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and the dramatic North and picturesque South coastlines, it’s a perfect place to stay and explore Devon. Mid Devon is known for its rolling hills, hidden woodlands, rivers and verdant valleys, teeming with wildlife, making it an ideal area for walking holidays and wildlife spotting.
If you are looking for the quintessential English countryside experience, then come to Mid Devon!
The quality of the natural environment is matched by the richness of its cultural heritage and history, with links to St Boniface, Crediton’s patron saint and strong roots to the wool trade and lace making which is evident throughout its architectural heritage.
Local produce pours out of the cafes and restaurants with an array of vineyards and microbreweries to sample as well as an award-winning bakery in Bampton.
The area boasts a wide variety of accommodation from friendly B&B’s and farm stay experiences (the real Devon lifestyle), self-catering or glamping in yurts and tipi’s – we have it all. If you are looking for full indulgence and complete relaxation, then we have some historic country manors and top independent hotels to meet your needs. And for those that just want to do their own thing there are quiet holiday parks and good quality campsites dotted throughout the area.
