Fursdon House is an elegant historic manor house nestling in some of the most beautiful countryside to be found in Devon, yet close to the vibrant city of Exeter.
The luxury Fursdon Cottage is a short walk from the manor house and covered in wisteria and climbing roses. Set high on the Fursdon Estate the views from all rooms are spectacular, looking out over the Bell tower and away to distant Dartmoor. Dogs are welcome here and there is also an enclosed garden to sit or play in. Parking for two cars is just opposite the cottage. It is a stylish and comfortable place for couples or families sleeping up to 6 people in three bedrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there is also a spacious family bathroom. The ground floor has been designed with one large kitchen/dining/sitting room so that whoever is preparing supper can join in with a glass of wine and a chat at the same time. There is a large utility room, separate TV room and a downstairs cloakroom. The ground floor has a tiled finish so that it is easy to clean and remains fresh with or without muddy paws or feet!
Muted colours and quality fabrics and linens have been used throughout. The Cottage is centrally heated and also has a cosy wood burner. There are shelves full of books for you to idle the time away reading, and a TV and DVD player provided if you just want to sit and relax, as well as WiFi if you need to keep in touch. Electricity and gas are provided at no extra cost and all wood for the wood burner is provided from the estate. There are crisp cotton sheets and large fluffy towels for you to use with soaps, shower gels and cleaning materials all provided too. On site too are the magnificent Fursdon House gardens and tea room. More information on these can be found here.
Fursdon’s quality self-catering holiday accommodation can be booked by the week or for a short break or long weekend, commencing on a Friday or Monday. Contact us for more information.
