There’s loads to see and do all year around in Sidmouth and we’ve already got some of our favourite events in our diaries ready for the new year! Here are some of our favourite annual events that we’re already looking forward to.

Sidmouth Science Festival

Every year this year just gets bigger and better, with a new theme for each one. Having started out as a two day long event, it now runs across ten days and many of the workshops and activities are completely free! This is the perfect event for the whole family, so make sure to look out for it in October!

Sidmouth Walking Festival

Sadly, this one had to be cancelled over the last year because of Covid restrictions, but joining in with the Walking Festival is one of our favourite ways to enjoy the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast. With several daily walking routes to choose from all across the Sid Valley, you can join like minded people and explore a walking route (or two) that suits you! The event usually takes place in September, so watch this space for 2022’s dates.

Sidmouth Airshow

This is the big one! The Sidmouth Airshow is one of the biggest events of the year and brings people from all over the country! It returned with a bang in 2021 after having to cancel the previous year and was bigger and better than ever! Usually held over the late August Bank Holiday, this is the perfect way to end the summer.

Sidmouth Folk Festival

One of the oldest events of its kind, the Sidmouth Folk Festival has been held in some form since the 1950s and has become a real highlight for fans of music and those that just love to have a good time! With over 700 events, both in person and online, there are workshops and performances to suit everyone. We’ll be updating the site once we have the dates for 2022, so keep your eyes peeled.
