This summer why not challenge yourself and learn a new skill by exploring the Jurassic Coast from the waves? Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro, there is plenty to keep you entertained here from paddleboarding to kayaking and lots more.
Getting out on the waves on a kayak or board is also a great way to experience the Jurassic Coast from a whole new perspective. Those iconic cliffs are awe-inspiring enough from the ground but seeing them from the ocean is something very special, whether you want a guided kayak tour, a boat trip or you fancy something a little more challenging, there is plenty to get involved with on Sidmouth’s beaches.
Watersports are very popular all over Devon, but here along the Jurassic Coast, you can join in with a host of activities, either to show off your skills or to just cool off in the warm weather. In Sidmouth, you can catch a boat ride or jump on a board or in a kayak, either from Port Royale or Sidmouth Town Beach.
In the summer, you’ll find paddleboards, body boards and kayaks available for hire, for those of you who don’t want to lug all your equipment to the town and people on hand to give tuition to those who want a bit of guidance before heading out on the waves. They cater for all abilities too and there are no age restrictions – making it a great activity for the whole family to get involved in
