On 1 October the new Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 came into force, impacting on how businesses manage and distribute tips from customers.
Key requirements of the new legislation include all tips being passed to staff without any deductions, a time limit on when tips must be paid by and maintaining a record of all tips paid and their allocation between each worker. More legislative information can be found in the Pink Book.
