Visit Britain's trip tracker survey for the August Bank Holiday showed 11 million Brits planned to take a domestic holiday trip in the UK, bringing an estimated £3.1 billion economic boost.
VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes OBE undertook a number of regional media interviews in the lead-up, highlighting the long weekend’s importance for the industry after a mixed summer for many destinations and promoting the outstanding destinations on our doorstep.
The survey also showed that a further 7.7 million people were undecided over whether to take an overnight holiday in England for the Bank Holiday.
