Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival
Hosting two literary events a year, the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival is one of the highlights of the town’s calendar. With a weekend event in March and a longer festival in the autumn, the festival has long been associated with Britain’s best loved authors, especially after the late Dame Hilary Mantel served as the festival’s president.
For five days every September, the crème of Britain’s literary crop descend on the town for a week of panels, workshops and events for the whole family. With celebrity speakers, best selling authors, publishers, agents and just about everyone else associated with the publishing industry, this is a must visit event for any bibliophile.
