Spend some time in East Devon over the Easter holidays and enjoy a range of family friendly activities so you can create a truly memorable bank holiday weekend.

Whether you’re in the area for the whole of the Easter holidays, just for a few days or are planning on a day trip over the weekend itself, here are a selection of some of the activities you can enjoy across East Devon.

Of course, if you’re in Sidmouth, there are plenty of things to keep you entertained, including shopping (see some of the shops on offer here), walks (see more walking routes here) or days on the beach, but that’s not all that’s on offer.

From 1st – 16th April, the Donkey Sanctuary are running an Easter Wildlife Hunt, where you can track down a host of animals and other wildlife around the sanctuary using maps provided from the team. Once you’ve found them all, you’ll get a prize, all this as well as the chance to make friends with the resident donkeys.

Wildwood Devon have their own Easter celebrations taking place between 1st – 16th April. Based near Ottery St Mary, Wildwood are hosting a special trail throughout the park with prizes for those who complete it. There are also Easter egg hunts inside the maze and a host of activities will be taking place across the onsite Saxon Village.

Elsewhere in the region, Seaton Wetlands are running an Easter Trail, also between 1st and 16th April. Head to the Discovery Hut to pick up your maps and then if you manage to complete the trail, make sure to return for your prize!

On 3rd April, make your way to Honiton High Street for an Easter Treasure Hunt. Visit the Easter pop up shop on Livermore Road and then head out onto the highstreet to find all the eggs. Once done, you’ll be entered into a prize draw.

There’s more taking place at Seaton Wetlands – their Family Easter Crafts activities are taking place on 5th April. Make sure to book your place in advance via the East Devon Council website to avoid disappointment.

For a family friendly day out, Seaton Tramway are hosting their Easter Egg-Tram-Aganza on 7th April, as well as their usual family fun that you can expect during the school holidays.

One of the big draws to East Devon is the incredible local produce, so make sure to celebrate Easter Sunday in style by heading to the Victoria Hotel in Sidmouth for Easter Sunday Lunch. Full of incredible locally sourced dishes and a sea view, dinner at the Victoria is not to be missed, especially at Easter!
