The summer is here and so are a host of exciting events that are taking place across the town! The annual festivals have already been kicked off with the Sidmouth Sea Fest and the Sidmouth Jazz and Blues Festival, with plenty still to come.
Music in the gardens
Throughout the summer months, you can head to Connaught Gardens where you can enjoy some evening entertainment as part of the Sidmouth Town Band’s Summer Season of Concerts.
Taking place at the Band Stand every year, the Summer Season goes all the way through to September, so whenever you visit Sidmouth, make sure to keep an eye out for the next concert!
Sidmouth Summer Play Session
Taking place every year, the Summer Play Season at Manor Pavilion Theatre is one of the last remaining Summer Repertory Theatre productions in the UK. In 2023, you can enjoy the 10th instalment of the Summer Season, which runs from 26th June through to 23rd September.
With 12 plays taking place over 12 weeks, there are plenty of productions to choose from and something for the whole family to enjoy!
The Sidmouth Folk Festival
A major cultural institution, the Sidmouth Folk Festival is the longest running festival of its kind and takes place the first week of August every year. There are over 700 unique performances all over the town, including children’s entertainment, live music, dancing workshops and just about everything else you can think of.
Tickets are still available if you haven’t got yours yet – just make sure to book your accommodation as soon as possible so you don’t miss out!
Sidmouth Regatta and Air Show
Ending the summer season on the Bank Holiday, the Regatta and air show is an annual event and is hugely popular with residents and tourists alike. The Regatta is held all over the weekend, with events running from the Friday onwards, while the Air Show kicks off the event on the Friday evening.
This year’s event will see the return of the Red Arrows, as well as other aerial displays, so keep your eyes out for the latest updates and event programme.
