Whether you’re visiting Sidmouth for a day trip or planning to stay a little longer during half term, there are lots of things to see and do, covering a wide range of budgets and activities. Here are some of our favourite things to do to help you plan your half term trip.
Go rockpooling
East Devon is perfect for rockpooling and there is something pretty special about discovering all the creatures that live there. Rockpooling is a fun, family activity that won’t cost a penny and will keep the kids entertained and educated during your trip. Just make sure to put back any critters you might find!
Follow the blue plaques
You can easily discover more about Sidmouth’s past and find fun things to do by hunting down all the blue plaques that are dotted around the town. We always find something new and returning visitors can always make a game out of the trail – it gets you out in the fresh air and away from your screens for a few hours.
Visit the region’s attractions
A half term trip to Sidmouth gives you access to all the delights that East Devon has to offer includes some of the most popular family friendly attractions in the county. You’ll find animal attractions, theme parks, heritage attractions and more all within half an hour of the town centre.
Try your hand at watersports
While the water might still be a bit cold at this time of year, it will be quieter than in the summer so you and the kids can try your hand at a spot of surfing or paddleboarding. With those iconic red cliffs, it is a great way to challenge yourself, keep fit and see the Jurassic Coast from a whole new angle.
