Summer may be coming to a close but festival season certainly isn’t – not here in Sidmouth anyway! With the Walking Festival and the Science Festival to look forward to, there is still plenty of fun to be had in Sidmouth this autumn.

Coming up on 16th September and running until 22nd September is the Sidmouth and East Devon Walking Festival, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. This year there is another packed programme of free, guided walks to choose from, including special interest walks led by an expert, walks across the region’s towns and villages and a chance to explore the East Devon Way.

If you’re in town for the start of the festival, make your way to Kennaway House for the launch event, starting at 1pm where you can meet the guides and learn more about the walks on offer during this year’s festival.

And pop into to see the team at the TIC in Sidmouth to book the walks you’re most interested in.

The following month, Sidmouth Science Festival returns, kicking off on 7th October and running through until 15th. Throughout the festival, you’ll have a chance to join in a host of talks and workshops with leading scientists and a host of other programmes. This year, join the team from the National Marine Aquarium on 13th October to learn more about conservation in action, head to the pub for some science on 12th October and join in with a robot workshop on 14th October! That’s on top of the usual family friendly activities! You can find a list of the announced events, including the Café Scientifique events that go on through the year on their website and don’t forget, the majority of them are free to attend!
