Want to plan the perfect weekend in Sidmouth? Well, we’ve taken the hard work out of it for you! Take a look at our suggestions for a weekend away in Sidmouth and be inspired for your own trip away.

Friday evening

Arrive in Sidmouth and check into your accommodation.

There are lots of properties to choose from, for those of you who want a hotel stay, check out our options here. Or for those who want self catering, like a cottage or a holiday park, check here.

Once you’re checked in, head into town for something to eat, before heading back to your accommodation and taking advantage of either the bar or grabbing some drinks to enjoy in your cottage or lodge.

Start your day with breakfast – either from the hotel or B&B's kitchen or head back into town and get breakfast from one of the cafes around town.

Once you’re full, work it off by taking a walk around the high street following the Blue Plaque Trail to find out more about the town’s history. Once you’ve finished the trail, stop by one of the museums to finish off your morning of education.

By this time, it will be getting on for lunchtime, so head back to the high street and take advantage of the many eateries and their locally sourced menus.

After lunch, indulge in some shopping and round off the evening with dinner and a show, either at the town’s cinema or theatre.

Start your day with another spectacular breakfast and then head out for a stroll around the South West Coast Path, which you can pick up in Sidmouth. Follow this along and explore some of the neighbouring towns. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, stop off for a taste of East Devon by enjoying a locally sourced roast dinner.

Eat up and have a leisurely stroll back in time to check out of your accommodation and head home, relaxed and ready to face the coming week, and of course, plan your next trip!
