The spring months, and with it better weather, is coming, if you don’t want to spend your weekend indoors flicking through the channels or watching the kids fighting over the control, why not plan some days out enjoying the wilds of East Devon?

East Devon is a haven for wildlife and natural spaces – not only is there the East Devon Way where you can get out on your bikes, but there is also the East Devon National Landscape, the South West Coast Path and more – you’re never short of somewhere green to escape to.

The region is also blessed with a host of nature reserves, with several within easy access of Seaton. Obviously, there is Seaton Wetlands, which always has a host of activities, keeping everyone entertained. The wetlands are made up of several sites, each with their own wildlife and views, so you’re never short of an adventure here.

On the outskirts of Seaton is Holyford Woods, a beautiful woodland, good for bird spotting, there are numerous public footpaths around the woods to explore. There is parking at the Seaton Down picnic site on the Seaton Down Hill Road, use the postcode EX12 2TF.

Nearby there is Colyford Common Local Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Seaton Wetlands and Trinity Hill Local Nature Reserve, which isn’t far from Axminster. Here you can enjoy incredible views across the Axe Valley towards Axminster.
