Tucked away in the enchanting Blackmore Gardens, something magical is in bloom. Each year, Sidmouth in Bloom transforms this tranquil green space into a living storybook with a new floral sculpture, and this summer, they’ve taken a walk on the wild and whimsical side of Narnia.

This year’s stunning installation brings the world of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life. It features a life-sized floral sculpture of the White Witch, complete with a flowing green cloak made of succulents, a classic pointed hat, and a broomstick poised for drama. Beside her stands a mysterious wardrobe, inviting garden-goers to imagine the snowy woods beyond. With every petal and plant carefully chosen and arranged, it’s a feast for the senses and a delightful nod to a beloved literary classic.

Originally blossoming years ago on the adjacent Peacock Lawn, this floral tradition has grown into a must-see summer spectacle. Lovingly maintained throughout the season, the display draws thousands of visitors, especially during August when the gardens become a bustling hub for Sidmouth’s Folk Festival.

Whether you're a Narnia fan, a garden enthusiast, or just passing through with a camera in hand, this charming installation offers a dash of wonder, a sprinkle of nostalgia, and a whole lot of flower power.

Don’t miss your chance to step into the magic, because who says fairy tales can’t bloom?
