The 15th Devon Tourism Awards took place last night in Plymouth, with several Sidmouth businesses and the TIC winning top awards.

The Sidmouth Tourist Information Centre won Gold in the Visitor Information Service of the Year award, while the Victoria Hotel walked away with two Bronze Awards, for their Source Spa Day in the Spa and Wellbeing Experience of the Year category and Large Hotel of the Year.

Elsewhere in the region, the Donkey Sanctuary also won. The Kitchen at the Donkey Sanctuary received Gold in the Café/Tearoom of the Year award and Gold for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year.

There were 75 awards handed out over 25 different categories during the course of the evening, with winners receiving trophies created by Dartington Crystal, a local Devon business.

Many successful gold award winners in the Devon Awards will go on to be nominated in the national VisitEngland award later this year.

The awards organiser, Robin Barker, of Services for Tourism, commented: “In what is a difficult time for many, it has been great to see increased entries into the awards and an increased number of winners. Their innovation, resilience and commitment to excellence never cease to amaze me.”

Congratulations to the team at the TIC and the other businesses who represented Sidmouth.
