Sidmouth’s Sid Vale Association is looking forward to celebrating their 175th anniversary this year with a number of events that they hope can go ahead later in 2021.
The team of volunteers are working as restrictions allow to make sure that the museum is ready to open later in the year and that they are still providing the community with plenty to look forward to, including a range of online talks and workshops.
Speaking to local reporters about their upcoming plans and Sidmouth Museum, Val Huntington, one of the SVA Trustees, said: “It is especially important to open this year as it is the 175th anniversary of the SVA and plans are tentatively being made to celebrate this milestone.”
Val also said: “The publication team has two books in the pipeline and there are a series of monthly presentations taking place via Zoom, which are free to all. On Wednesday, 10th February, Roger Trend will be presenting a talk called Sidmouth Coast: What is Going on, while in March, Jon Ball will be talking about the Sid Valley diversity project.”
