Two Women In A Carpark” by award winning poet and writer Selima Hill and artist Moby Hill has opened at Sidmouth’s outdoor art gallery in the Sensory Garden by the Ham EX10 8BG.

This exhibition looks at mothers and sons and their relationships to each other through the media of written texts by writer Selima Hill and outdoor prints of original artwork by local artist Moby Hill.

Prize winning poet Selima Hill, grew up in Dorset in a family of painters. Awarded the first Kings Gold Medal for poetry in 2025.

Selima’s voice is unique in contemporary British poetry, eclectic, humorous and surprising, side by side with her son Moby’s artwork, heightening both the absurd and mundane with colour and darkness – together evoking a depth of emotion that can catch you.

This exhibition presents a selection of the full collection of images and text which are brought together in a new book “Two Women in A Car Park” by Selima Hill with artwork by Moby Hill, published by South West independent publisher Guillemot Press.

There will be an open book signing launch from midday to 2pm at Riverside Artspace on Saturday 11th April that is open to all.

Sidmouth School of Art’s Louise Cole said “Riverside Artspace is such a calm place to experience art for free by the river surrounded by the sensory garden beds which are managed by Sidmouth In Bloom.  This is our second exhibition of 2026 and it is exciting to showcase this time art and poetry together. It’s a wonderful exhibition which is curious, playful, thoughtful and I am sure will be experienced differently by everyone who sees it, art is such a powerful thing.”
