Sidmouth Town Council are delighted to welcome Barnova, who will be running a Christmas Market Social in the Marketplace Building from 12 November until January 2027.
When the Town Council took on the management of the building this year, a market was the most popular suggestion made in our public consultation and so we are very excited to have a vibrant social space coupled with an artisan Makers Mart showcasing Devon creatives.
Barnova come to Sidmouth with plenty of experience in creating welcoming Christmas social pop-ups with artisan retail spaces. The social will include a bar cafe selling a range of festive offerings including mulled wine and cider, mulled apple juice, and other festive drinks with lots of non-alcoholic options. The cafe will offer chai, matcha and festive hot chocolates as well as a full organic coffee menu, Exploding bakery cakes and mince pies. The Market will be decorated for Christmas with dogs being welcomed inside.
Hours of opening will be Monday-Wednesday 9am-7pm, Thursday to Saturday 9am-9pm, and Sunday 9am-5pm. Subject to the Licencing Authority’s decision, some live and recorded music may be provided. A New Year's Eve event is also being explored.
As part of the trial of various different uses for the building, Sidmouth Town Council will welcome public feedback on the use of the building in this manner. The Council is confident that Barnova will be a very positive addition to Sidmouth Town Centre over the Christmas period.
