This autumn, grab your friends and enjoy a day out in Sidmouth. Now the kids are back to school, the adults can come out and play, so why not plan some time out with your friends at the coast?

If you’re tempted by a day out full of fun and perhaps, a cheeky fish and chips by the sea, here are our top suggestions for a day out with your friends.

  • Go golfing
Play a few rounds of golf together at one of the local courses – with incredible views, you can easily make a day out of it.
  • Spend the day at the spa
Take a trip to the spa at the Victoria Hotel and enjoy a couple’s massage or have some treatments together
  • Paint some pottery
Something Lovely has a paint your own pottery studio in Libra Court, so you can get in touch with your creative side and see who produces the best designs
  • Visit the donkeys
Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary is free to visit and on a dry day, is a good way to get those steps up while also making friends with the resident donkeys
  • Take a pleasure cruise
Enjoy the Jurassic Coast from a different angle by hopping on a pleasure cruise around the coast – with both options to go out to sea and river cruises around East Devon, you can pick up a boat from various points around Sidmouth.
  • Retail therapy
Sidmouth high street has an eclectic range of shops to enjoy, so why not exercise your credit card and spend a day exploring?
  • Visit the beach
In September, with the weather still reasonably warm, why not spend some time on either Sidmouth Town Beach or Jacobs Ladder Beach? Both beaches are much quieter when the kids go back to school and at the end of September, dogs are welcome to visit more of the coast.
  • Go on a coastal walk
Pick up the South West Coast Path and explore the Jurassic Coast from one of the many routes around East Devon.
