East Devon is a haven for people coming on holiday – with a host of wonderful walking routes and plenty of beaches where you’re welcome to walk with your pups, it’s an understandably popular place for dog friendly days out.
To help you plan your dog friendly days out, our roving re-paw-ter, Chief Brody is sharing his favourite spots around Seaton.
Chief Brody and his humans’ first stop was the beach, dogs are allowed on East Walk and West Walk all year around, with restrictions on the middle section from 1st May until 30th September. Once we get into next month, dogs are allowed across the whole beach, so obviously Brody will be back in the autumn to check out the bits of beach that he missed.
As well as the beach and a host of East Devon Walks, including the South West Coast Path, which you can join from the Esplanade, there are plenty of dog friendly places to eat and even attractions you can visit with your dog! Seaton Tramway welcome dogs – so Chief Brody donned his conductor hat and made the journey between the stations at Seaton and Colyford.
Once all humans were accounted for, Brody embarked on the popular River Coly Walk, which you can pick up from the station at Colyford. Simply follow the river down to Colyton, where you can also join the East Devon Way if you fancy a proper adventure.
Being keen to get back to the beach and catching pebbles, Brody reboarded the tram and headed back to Seaton where everyone enjoyed an ice cream.
Fancy spending a doggy day out of your own? Seaton is a lovely place to spend time with your furry friends. As well as the beach and Seaton Tramway, there are loads of local walks to enjoy - just remember to be responsible and clean up after your dogs; to follow all signage and to stick to the designated areas, especially on the beach and to be aware of other visitors to the town.
