Gardens & Nature Events

The North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are nationally designated to protect and conserve the 171 km2 of distinctive and magnificent coastal landscapes between the Cornish border and Exmoor National Park. The landscape in this area varies from wild coastal cliffs, spectacular waterfalls and rocky coves to sand dunes and beaches, wooded combes and valleys with sheltering villages, so whether you’re looking for a gentle outdoor excursion or something more challenging, there is something for everyone to enjoy. There are a number of events that take in the coastline all year around.

There is no shortage of beautiful places to visit across the whole of North Devon and if nature is your thing, you’ll be spoilt with beautiful scenery and special habitats for many of the creatures native to the area. With the stunning landscapes of both the coast and the countryside, it is no wonder that the people of North Devon take advantage by using it as a backdrop to their events.

Wonderful natural locations

There are events taking place on Exmoor which make use of this exciting area of North Devon. Exmoor National Park is a unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, shaped by people and nature over thousands of years. On Exmoor it is still possible to find tranquillity and peace as well as rediscovering your sense of adventure; catch a glimpse of wild red deer, be amazed by dark skies full of stars and explore villages full of character, as well as joining in with various organised excursions.

North Devon also takes great pride in the many parks and gardens that can be found in the region, including RHS Rosemoor, which holds a number of events throughout the year. As does the Arlington Court site which is managed by the National Trust. The Trust hold several seasonal events throughout the year as well as smaller events that accommodate the whole family.
