Visiting North Devon this half term? Well, there’s plenty to keep you entertained whatever the weather throws at us! Plus, with a wide range of things to see and do, there’s something to suit every age and taste.

Here are some of the things you can enjoy while in North Devon this half term.

Arlington Court

National Trust’s Arlington Court is a great option for families this half term. If you are a member, you can enjoy free entry and whether you have a membership or not, you’re welcome to enjoy complimentary additional activities which are taking place this half term.

Every day in October there is AutumnFest which provides the best routes for enjoying the changing season and running between 7th and 30th October, you can enjoy a Scarecrow Trail – just pick up a trail sheet on arrival and see how many scarecrows you can find across the grounds.

The Milky Way

As one of the best loved attractions in North Devon, The Milky Way should be part of the plan anyway but for October half term, you can finally live out your dream of sending the kids off to a school of witchcraft and wizardry! From 21st – 29th and then again on 31st October, there are a host of additional Halloween themed activities to enjoy on top of all the usual entertainment, including a very special school for witches and wizards where they can try their hand and casting spells, making potions and joining in with other spooky events.

Quince Honey Farm

From 23rd – 27th October make your way over to Quince Honey Farm where you can pick your own pumpkin at their first ever pumpkin patch event! It’s free to visit and is separate to the main attraction, just follow the signs from the car park!

While you’re in the area though, join in with Quince’s Apple and Honey Harvest, which is running from 21st-29th October. It’s a great time to learn more about the customs of the apple harvest and find out more about how honey is harvested.

RHS Rosemoor

Explore the changing of the season in the garden with the family friendly trail, enjoy a show or take part in some spooky crafts. With a host of options across the garden, there’s loads to do throughout the half term week.

The Big Sheep

Home to North Devon’s biggest rollercoaster, the Big Sheep is a must for anyone who loves getting their heart racing and over half term there are a host of spooky activities to keep the thrills coming. Remember to come in your best Halloween costumes – there are daily prizes for the best dressed!
