Devon festival returns to Woolacombe Bay this June, bringing tunes, feasts, surf comps, cold water swims and nature experiences, with a backdrop of a World Surf Reserve.

Surfers, outdoor explorers, music fans and adventurers are invited to glorious Devon for four days of the Spring Classic Festival from 1st to 4th June.

The festival is hosted by heritage UK surf magazine Wavelength, perched on the hilltop overlooking Woolacombe Bay. This iconic coastal celebration provides a ‘pitch’ perfect soundtrack to unbeatable panoramic ocean views.

Luke Dillon, 4X British Champion, speaks about last year’s festival, “Last year there were the best UK male and female competitive longboarders, a load of us short boarders, and then just great all-rounders in the water together. That hadn’t happened before. Now with a second year, it feels like the start of a great feel-good tradition.”

Swapping the States for Devon’s sunny shore, headlining Saturday is double Grammy Award-winner Arrested Development. This quintet brings soulful sounds and chill vibes to kick back to and relax after a day watching the waves. Find escape in the bright, blissful melodies of Cassia, catch Los Bitchos for contagious summer latin vibes, and get familiar with afro-psychedelic future pop in the form of Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, a 7 piece band from Soweto, South Africa.

Bristol-based MC-songwriter Gardna, UK breakbeat and bass movement pioneers Krafty Kuts and Freestylers and expect jungle, dub and reggae mashed up from the mighty Benny Page. From sunrise to sunset, Spring Classic delivers a musical backdrop to an unmissable four days of hearty communal experiences, surf competitions, family activities and amazing

Find your glow at the extraordinary commune of calm, the health and wellness tipis, overlooking the ocean. Wind down with balmy evenings and wake up to bright-eyed mornings with a range of wild wellbeing, holistic workshops and serene experiences from pilates experts, ocean-inspired yoga gurus, reiki healers and more.

As the sun sets, tuck yourself up with a glass of wine or locally sourced brew by an open fire for a fire-pit feast sourcing local ingredients for a sustainably-led menu. Learn from pioneers in biodiversity, cold water swimming and rewilding in the talks and workshops across the weekend.

The Spring Classic Surf Invitational returns with a stacked field featuring some of the UK's top pro surfers, going toe to toe with international invitees and the best local talent.

Emily Currie, the 2022 Spring Classic Surf Invitational winner, says, “Last year’s Surf Invitational was easily one of the funnest contests I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of. The initiative of this event was awesome – retro boards and a whole lot of fun.”

A surf contest with a difference, competitors are handed a board at random ahead of their heat with judges rewarding the best style, flow and the surfer having the most fun.

The boards themselves represent a piece of North Devon surfing heritage, with a range of retro surf crafts donated by local collectors for the weekend.

Surfing isn't reserved only for the pros, with a special ticket bundle that includes a surf lesson at Woolacombe beach, in the heart of the World Surfing Reserve site.

Spring Classic’s Skate is the perfect spot to take part in dedicated ramp sessions - pro or grom. The epic weekend of waves also has wheels. The Moto Paddock is home to both custom and classic bikes, including customisation to thrill even the most dedicated moto-devotee, exploring the beauty behind the bike in the showcase area.

The jam-packed itinerary for the tiny tot surfers in town includes a party at Junior Jungle, with music dancing and a variety of child friendly entertainers, educational wildlife talks and winding trails along the coveted coastline. Capturing the imagination of even the youngest in the family, Spring Classic will have magical Campfire Story Time and a designated camping area for families to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.

Tickets are on sale now at £155 (Weekend camping pass) and £105 (weekend non-camping pass) and £45 for the day. With onsite camping, the festival ticket also includes four jam-packed days of festival fun.
