Over the course of three days RHS Rosemoor will host some of the nation’s best loved and experienced gardeners, horticulturalists, nursery owners and florists during its annual summer Flower Show. Visitors with tickets for the event will be able to learn from the best in the Talks Tent in the Stream Field, and at the Garden Room stage, in the most varied programme yet for the event.
Kicking off the Talks Tent in the heart of the showground on Friday 15th August is Jekka McVicar VMH, known as the ‘Queen of Herbs’, to discuss her new book, 100 Herbs to Grow. An organic grower of herbs and horticultural author, designer, consultant, judge and moderator, Jekka is renowned for her passion and knowledge of herbs and has built an international reputation for growing and designing sustainable herb gardens. She has been awarded 62 RHS Gold medals for her Herb Exhibits which includes 14 Gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show as well as the RHS Lawrence Medal (2009), for the best exhibit shown at any RHS show during that year.
The following day, Saturday 16th August, Joe Bagley, The Houseplant Doctor™, will deliver a lively talk that will take you on a deep dive into the world of houseplants and give you pro tips on how to create your own lush indoor oasis. Joe has appeared on BBC Gardeners World, run a successful houseplant and potting mix online store and presented for BBC Gardeners World Live. His new book How To Make Your Houseplants Love You will help every houseplant parent keep their dependents happy.
Broadcaster and writer Carol Klein, one of Britain's best loved horticulturists, will speak on Sunday 17th August to launch her latest book – Hortobiography - a lyrical and moving memoir told through the stories of the gardens she has loved throughout her life. From her childhood adventures to training as an artist and a teacher and then finding an entirely unexpected career as a popular television presenter, the book tells the story of the people, places and plants that have shaped Carol’s life.
During the Flower Show a special stage in the Garden Room, where the Floral Art Competition creations from Devon & Cornwall Floral Art and National Demonstrator’s will be displayed, will host two top notch floral designers. On Friday 15th August National NAFAS demonstrator Angela Turner will talk about her love of seasonal materials, locally grown British flowers and sustainable floristry methods. With over 30 years of teaching floristry, floral design and flower arranging, Angela has been awarded several RHS Chelsea Gold Medals for Floristry and Floral Design as well as many other awards including, most recently, ‘1 of 100 Faces of Floristry’.
Chelsea gold medallist and designer for flower festivals at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells, Coral Gardiner will speak on Saturday 16th August. Coral enjoys travelling the length and breadth of the country sharing her love of garden plant material and sense of fun with flowers. Recently she was asked to create a pedestal design at Westminster Abbey for the remembrance service for Prince Philip which was a huge honour. Her training as a gardener and in amenity horticulture have been valuable experience for her current work with flowers.
Timings and the full line up of all talks and demonstrations as well as the live music schedule at the RHS Rosemoor Flower show will be announced later in June 2025.
