Start the day with a scenic walk

Begin the day with a refreshing walk along one of the many coastal paths in North Devon. The South West Coast Path provides loads of routes and with the imminent release of the Salt Path, you can create your own journey of discovery by following the trails around North Devon’s rugged cliffs. Popular routes include the walks around Woolacombe Beach or Valley of Rocks near Lynton.

Stop off for brunch with a view

After working up an appetite exploring the South West Coast Path, treat the lady in your life to brunch at one of North Devon’s cosy cafes or seafront restaurants. There are loads of lovely little places to stop in and enjoy some refreshments all with amazing views of the coast.

Explore some of the region’s towns and villages

North Devon is home to some incredibly picturesque towns and villages. After brunch, why not spend the afternoon wandering through the cobbled streets of Clovelly where you can meet the rescue donkeys and step back in time. Alternatively, Appledore or Barnstaple are also easy to reach from all over North Devon.

Cream tea with a view

No trip to North Devon is complete without a cream tea and as it's Mother’s Day, there is no excuse not to indulge. Many local tearooms and hotels offer special Mother’s Day packages with the traditional cream tea swapped for champagne and fancy cakes along with the scones and jam Whether you go for something to mark the occasion or stick with a tried and tested classic – remember to eat it the Devon way.

End the day by chasing the sunset

North Devon is one of the best places to enjoy the sunset, so why not head to Saunton Sands or Croyde Bay to watch the sky as the sun sets on a great day in North Devon. Appledore is another place known for being a great spot for watch the sunset.
