With the new lambs frolicking in the fields and the sea warming up (ever so slightly), North Devon is a great place to celebrate Easter this year. If you’re planning a day trip or two or maybe spending the whole week in the region, here are some suggestions for things to do while here.

National Trust’s Arlington Court
nr Barnstaple, EX31 4LP

Over the Easter break, you’ll find an egg-citing trail around the grounds of Arlington Court – choose your team, Team Easter Bunny or Team Chocolate Egg and complete the route to win prizes!
Not only that, but you can also try your hand at welly wanging, hula hoop hopping, egg spotting and scrambled egg slingshotting!

The Milky Way Adventure Park 
nr Bideford, EX39 5RY

As well as the usual fun and games, the Easter Grotto is back between 8th and 21st April. It’s a chance to find out just how the Easter bunny manages to make and deliver all those eggs! Plus, you’ll get a little treat after you’ve visited the grotto! Spaces are limited though, so make sure to book your session when you get your tickets!

The Big Sheep 
nr Bideford, EX39 5AP

There’s a host of Easter themed activities taking place at the Big Sheep this April, come meet the newborn animals and even take part in giving them their lunch! The Easter Bunny will be around to hang out and there are several Easter crafts to keep you entertained in between all the rides and live shows!

RHS Rosemoor 
Great Torrington, EX38 8PH

The Giant Easter Egg Hunt is back at RHS Garden Rosemoor – with free entry for members, you have the chance to crack the egg-nigma code this Easter. Find the giant colourful eggs and collect clues to solve the puzzle and win a treat!

Clovelly 
Clovelly, nr Bideford EX39 5TA

This historic village is always worth a visit, the cobbled street and harbour are like stepping back in time. While you’re here, stop by to see the village’s rescue donkeys and take part in their Easter trail.

Hartland Abbey and Gardens 
Hartland, nr Bideford EX39 6DT

If you fancy getting some fresh air over the Easter break, visit Hartland Abbey. This incredibly picturesque house and gardens are home to some of the region’s best displays of spring flowers and over the Easter weekend, there are trails and activities taking place for the whole family. You can even bring your dogs too!

Watermouth Castle 
Berrynarbor, Ilfracombe EX34 9SL

With a mixture of children’s activities and family friendly rides within a Victorian castle and gardens – there’s something for people of all ages! Fly your own aeroplane, ride a toboggan or explore a world of rides.

North Devon Wake Park
nr Bideford, EX39 5RY

North Devon is famous for its surfing beaches but if you want to take to the waves in a more controlled environment, book a session at the North Devon Wake Park. With activities for all ages, it’s the ultimate destination for outdoor fun in the region.

Ilfracombe Aquarium
Ilfracombe, EX34 9EQ

Based on Ilfracombe Pier, from here you can find the iconic Verity sculpture and the town centre. Ilfracombe Aquarium is a great all weather attraction, so it’s a great place to visit if the weather is against you.  

Keypitts Offroad Adventures
Ilfracombe, EX34 9RW

For some outdoor adventures, head to Keypitts Offroad Adventures, where you can partake in axe throwing, quad biking and  land rover experiences – there’s something for everyone, no matter your age and ability.

Exmoor Zoo
Nr Barnstaple, EX31 4SG

On the edge of the Exmoor National Park, Exmoor Zoo is a unique rural zoo home to rare and unusual animals that you won’t find anywhere else. The spring time is a great time to visit, especially for their bird exhibits, where the new chicks are starting to emerge.
