Festive things to do this winter in North Devon

Need a little help to get into the spirit of the season this year? Then you are in the right place, there are a host of seasonal events and activities taking place across North Devon designed to get you feeling fun and festive!

If you want to visit Father Christmas, he will be making an appearance at several places across the region. At Arlington Court, you can meet him in his traditional green outfit from 21^st December. Not only that, but there are a host of other activities taking place, including late openings, choirs and the chance to explore some impressive Victorian-themed decorations.

The man himself will also be at The Milky Way Adventure Park with his recognisable red costume. As well as experiencing all the fun of the theme park, you can also head to Buzzlewick’s Elf Emporium where you can meet Buzzlewick the Elf himself and he’ll help you decorate some gingerbread, write to Santa and make dinner for the reindeers, before you stop off at Father Christmas’ cottage for a present!
Elsewhere at the park, there is a Festive Train, where you can warm up with hot chocolate and treats and themed shows just for the season.

You can also find him at the Mole Resort, where there are several fun, festive things going on. You can meet Father Christmas, share your wish list and get a special gift. Mrs Claus will be there too for storytime! If you want to show off your creative side, there are plenty of themed activities and workshops taking place around the county, including at the Mole Resort who are hosting hands on wreath making workshops at various dates in December. How better to get into the spirit than by making your own decorations? You’ll also have the chance to decorate gingerbread, make your own ornaments and enjoy a host of delicious seasonal treats.

Speaking of treats, stock up on all that Christmas food and drink we all love with a Christmas market. The Big Sheep are running their annual Christmas Market from 7^th December onwards, with everything from turkey to cheese and cake, plus Christmas trees and gifts – pick up everything you need in one place!

One of the best things about the Christmas season is the decorations – there are several places you can enjoy some spectacular light exhibitions, including Clovelly Court Gardens and RHS Rosemoor’s Glow illumination.
