Explore the Lorna Doone Valley this Easter with family fun days, forest school sessions, and the National Trust Easter egg hunt.
On Wednesday 9th and 16th of April, enjoy free family fun days packed with activities, from creative crafts to nature discoveries. Try your hand at lawn games such as Kubb and Boccia, and don’t miss the chance to explore the wonders of nature with the Exmoor National History Society.
Running on the 7th and 14th of April, forest school sessions offer the opportunity to learn new skills such as campfire cooking, woodworking, and whittling, guided by our ranger team. This event costs £2 per child and booking is essential via the Lorna Doone website.
From the 5th to the 21st of April, explore the Easter egg trail and participate in ten nature-inspired activities along the way. The trail costs £3.50 per child, including a trail map, bunny ears, a take-home activity sheet, and a chocolate egg or free-from alternative.
James Adams, Programming & Partnerships Officer at Lorna Doone, said, "We’re excited to kick off a new season of family events with our Easter activities. It’s a great time of the year to get outside, and we’re looking forward to welcoming families to the Lorna Doone Valley to celebrate spring."
The Buttery Café, located in the heart of the Doone Valley, is open seven days a week from April. Now under the management of Tim Williams and Bev Walden, who also run the Doone Valley Gallery & Gifts, the café is led by head chef Ella Lancaster. Visitors can enjoy a menu featuring full English breakfasts, lunchtime specials, cream teas, and homemade cakes.
