Historic sites and museums
If you’re caught out in the rain, don’t panic, North Devon has an array of museums and heritage sites and many of the museums are free to visit – perfect if you’re not expecting rain and need to get somewhere dry!

Enjoy some warming food and drink
When it’s raining, there are fewer things better than sitting down with a hot chocolate or cup of tea and people-watching or cracking open a book while sitting in a café. You’ll find plenty of places to enjoy a cream tea or some hearty food.
If you’re at the beach, Saunton Sands Hotel’s Beachside Grill and other eateries are a great place to run in and order some food. The town of Ilfracombe is also quickly becoming a foodie haven, so you’ll find lots of options here too.
Wet weather attractions
North Devon is home to several all-weather attractions and plenty of options for if the weather gets in the way. Even RHS Rosemoor, yes, the gardens have indoor spaces to explore! To keep the whole family entertained, why not stop off at the Milky Way Adventure Park or the Big Sheep? You could also spend some time shopping and learning at Dartington Crystal or discover some of the world’s marine at Ilfracombe Aquarium. Kids will also love Scribbleton, North Devon's most unique children’s role-play centre.
