With a host of events taking place across the UK, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the coronation. Here is a brief roundup of some of the events taking place in North Devon over the bank holiday.

In Barnstaple, there are several places holding events for the coronation, including afternoon tea at the Cedars Inn where you can choose from a traditional cream tea, afternoon tea or a fancy afternoon tea to celebrate the big day. It isn’t just cream teas on offer, there will also be a Big Lunch at Anstey Community Hall in South Molton. Or, head to Appledore for their Picnic in the Park and enjoy (hopefully) the nice weather while celebrating!

Nearby in Ilfracombe, Ilfracombe Musical Productions will be presenting Coronation Treats – a packed show of treats that chronicles some of the most iconic moments of King Charles III’s life at Emmanuel Church.

Quince Honey Farm are hosting a Honey Talk and Tasting Experience over the Coronation weekend inspired by the new King who is a supporter of the bees. The whole evening is a discovery, sharing and celebrating bees – the event will include a 5 course taste menu that will showcase local produce and how honey can be integrated within food.

This year’s Lee Spring Fair will have a theme of Kings and Queens and will take place at the end of May, perfect for those that aren’t in the region for the coronation itself.

If you want any souvenirs of the big day, stop by Dartington Crystal who are offering an exclusive array of commemorative glassware.
