For something a bit more active, try the Grand Western Canal Cycle route – an easy 8-mile cycle from Tiverton to the Somerset border, perfect for families sits beside the canal towpath and takes in superb views of the Mid Devon countryside along the way. You will also find top rope climbing and an Adventure Playground on offer in the town, as well as several spacious and picturesque parks. The Exe Valley Way runs through the town and there are a myriad of footpaths and riverside walks to explore making Tiverton a great destination for ramblers. Looking to step back in time then a visit to Coldharbour Mill is one of the oldest woollen mills in the UK having been in continuous production since 1797 and is recognised by Historic England as “probably one of the best-preserved textile mill complexes in the country”.
