Budleigh Salterton is the only town wholly within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is at the start of the Jurassic Coast. It has a 2.5 mile stretch of unique pebble beach which is popular for kayaking, paddle boarding and sea fishing.

This is a beautiful, diverse area which has many amazing natural landscapes to enjoy, plus a wealth of flora and fauna which can be spotted as you explore. The nearby Otter Estuary is a nature reserve where you can see a variety of birdlife, both local and migratory. The South West Coast Path runs along the coastline providing many pleasant walks and is easily accessible. 

The town centre has a varied range of shops, most of which are independent and speciality shops, providing a treasure trove of unique gifts. There is also a comprehensive choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs offering extensive menus, suiting every taste. The high street includes a gentle brook that flows through the centre, it is one of Devon’s most unspoilt and charming towns. A delightful holiday destination or a relaxed and friendly location for a day trip.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in and around Budleigh Salterton. The nearby estuary is a great spot for bird watching and for those that prefer a bit of retail therapy, the high street is a charming and quaint place to browse. There are some wonderful views from the Promenade for budding photographers, on a clear day, you can see Portland Bill in Dorset and Berry Head.

There are a number of sports and games activities on offer, for anyone who likes to be active. The area is a haven for keen cyclists, from the Green, there is a cycle track which extends into Exmouth along the old railway. There are several other local on and off road cycle routes. Horse riders are able, through local riding schools, join trails on horseback.

There are many cultural aspects to the town, there is a local Museum - the Fairlynch and Art Galleries to enjoy. There are also regular cultural events including an annual Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival and Music Festival."
